Brief Educational/Employment Background:
Denny Crane is one of the founding partners of Crane, Poole, and Schmidt, and has a reputation of legendary proportions. He stands by his undefeated record of 6,043-0, though now he is mostly on cases for the “Denny Crane” factor, giving clients the benefit of his “shock and awe” reputation. Before becoming an attorney he proudly served in the Marines, where he was a sniper…. or was it a pilot? Either way, Denny received weapons training and keeps his guns close in case he should need them. Unfortunately this habit has lead to him using them to shoot several people including a man holding Alan Shore hostage, a client (in the kneecap), his therapist (self-defense), and a homeless man (it was only a paintball gun…. the softie…). These incidents have lead to him appearing on Larry King Live… much to the dismay of the other partners.
Personality:
Denny Crane is often viewed as eccentric, forgetting major and minor details, behaving oddly or inappropriately, and bluntly stating what he is thinking (example: while preparing a case he announced he had an erection and that was a good sign that they were ready to go). He firmly believes his forgetfulness and eccentric behavior is brought on by mad cow disease, and often tells people that by way of explanation.
Denny is also a womanizer, which while he is harmless, this has been known to get him into trouble. His latest marriage, for example, did not last past the reception because he snuck off to the coat room to have sex with one of the waitresses. It does not matter how important or powerful the woman is, or if they are a co-worker or client, he will hit on them either way. It has been commented that he really will sleep with anything in a skirt.
Likes/Dislikes:
Denny dislikes democrats, communists, and is a strong opponent of gun control, believe it to be for communists. He is also homophobic, and is paranoid about people viewing him as anything other than heterosexual. He is a strong Republican and takes his right to bear arms very seriously.
Despite their differences, Denny Crane is close friends with Alan Shore (even though he is a democrat… and has been known to have pinko liberal democrat commie leanings once or twice) and enjoys their “balcony time” where they enjoy a scotch and cigar together.

Denny relies on his reputation to do the work for him a great deal these days. His mind is not what it used to be, and he is painfully aware of that. Denny would rather go out in a blaze of glory than lie in a hospital bed, wasting away. That is not a fitting end for the great Denny Crane.
